  Every time I see one of these horrid creations, it is being thrashed to within an inch of it's life, such as coming home this evening, with one driving up the middle of a wide A-road, overtaking all the 60MPH traffic, with traffic also coming the other way. If I was forced to drive one, I would do so as unobtrusively as possible, because the embarrassing looks alone would guarantee too much attention, without poor driving adding to it!

  (SRS light, battery light, oil light and warm engine light appreard) but she started then after the third attempt and drove home fine. that night i was driving home again and she stalled whilst driving on flat road. took three attempts for her to start. it happened yesterday (sunday) again whilst driving. this time i came to a stop to let traffic past on busy road and she just stalled and later that night whilst driving her out of the driviway she started and drove about a foot, then stopped and it took 2 attempts to start her again.

  I know that we have all had to pass a test, and should know the right answers, but I also know, from teaching another child to drive, that even then doubts can remain and poor examples feed those doubts, and good examples with experience teach good driving. I am not bashing the police's efforts in all directions, from what I have seen of foot and local cycle patrols, their bearing and manner is pretty much unimpeachable, and when away from their cars I have no complaints, but I do wonder if the local patrol car driving standards are slipping somewhat.

  However, I have got the dreaded engine warning light. Garage struggling to fix it.  The Primera is a very comfortable car and a joy to drive, even though it is 14 years old. It is still more comfortable then say some smaller cars, I have hired on holiday. But the Primera does not inspire me to wake up drive all the way to Scotland! It is not a fun car to drive.

  Just had a test drive in the new Fiesta. Really good car to drive and, if I was buying a new supermini, this would be top of the list. Has anyone seen the new Jazz anywhere? I test drove a 1.25 today and it didn't feel underpowered.

  Another thing that i am curious about in a new car is a fantastic, sporty driving position. The low-slung kind. I sat in a Kia C'eed a couple of weeks ago and liked the way the seat felt low and close to the road. Are there any other everyday cars (superminis, hatchbacks, saloons) that also have a sporty driving position?
