  As the weather in the UK generally doesn't require the air con, I hadn't noticed that the air con did not blow cold. When testing the air con, I noticed it blew warm, so took it for a refill and that didn't sold the issue. Driving home, the air con started working and worked for 3 days after (admittedly the car hadn't been driven after being parked the night it started working).

  were is the clutch solunoid located on my air con system. my haynes manual doesnt show any detail on this. is it in the centre of the pulley with a 14 mm nut in the middle or is that something else. were can i buy the part would it be dealer part only or are after market ones available.

  hello, i have a problem with my astra 1.7 dtl gm 1999 air con/ heated window/ recirculation buttons on dash,all 3 dont work , there is power going to it on the multi plug !! any ideas as to why all 3 wouldnt work info needed please

  MY 99 T Toledo TDi makes a loud engine speed clicking noise whenever the climate control is on. system has been re gassed, belt and tensioner replaced, alternator replaced to no effect. specialist air con man says probably the compressor but not certain. it works normally,just very noisy. any suggestions please.

  today i just pressed the snowflake button ,it lit up but nothing happened , i noticed that when i got home i let it idle on the drive then turned it on again, normally theres a slight pitch in the way the car idles when the air con is switched on... but nothing happened! Any ideas Guys ?? is there something prone to faults on this unit? do i need a re gas?? all help appreciated Regards Steve

  At the last service the Honda dealer told me that they could see a few bubbles in my 1996 Accord air con and that it needed regassed, cost around £65 plus VAT. I think they are probably right as it dooes feel a little less cool than previously. Does anyone know a good alternative place to go to get this done that may be cheaper?

  I got this work done for £430 picked the car up on Thursday evening, everything was working okay and on Friday morning the car was parked in my rive and I heard a pop from the engine area and all the gas then escaped from the air con system. I returned to the garage and they checked it again and told me that the air con pump was producing too-much pressure and popped the hose again. They have now quoted me £700 for replacing the air con pump.

  Air con recently failed.  Advised needs new compressor - labour/part cost £1150 - minus trade in of old compressor.  End cost about £800 but VW MAY and only may, make a contribution.

  Could i still use the van until i can get it fixed?. I know it shoudnt be run without gas and oil. Do i need to do more than simply not turn on the air con switch on the dash or do i need to remove fuses etc?

  Have noticed that with the dash readout showing an outside temperature of 25c.the air con,(not full climate control) still copes well in suppling cold air,but the front windows mist up after a while to the extent that I had to open them to see out and to check the mirrors.I find this strange as the air con is great in clearing the insides of the windows at other times,any answers please?.

  The local Volvo dealer has offered a free Air con inspection on my 08 V50 and suggested there might be an inherent fault.  The Air con is in fact not working and I had thought to go more locally to have it repressurised.  This seems to suggest that Volvo might be offering some financial assitance - anyone experience this?
