Great when working

I bought this car after testing about every 7 seat 4X4. It did enough off road for snow and muddy lanes but I didn't need to pay the premium for a Discovery and didn't want the fuel costs of a VW or Audi.

It not fast but quite urgent when pushed. Immensely comfortable on the motorway and seemingly magical in snow. But at a cost. Failed power steering hose failed and replaced under warranty. Rear transfer box failed twice, second time under warranty at a cost of £2k. Now I have problem when moving from slippery ground when cold. Possibly a wheel sensor £100 or failed transmission £?K Its 6 years old and done 75k miles. I wont be spending any more money on it and will trade it.

Volvo have a design fault as countless owners have suffered transmission failure at 60-70k miles. Volvo were not interested in any warranty offer. Oh and cherish your wing mirrors. Replacements are £450 each!

My advice buy on hire contract and trade every 3 years but don't aim to keep one yourself.
