Great fun but let down by comfort / build quality

After searching for a replacement for a 9 year old Swift I had from new, where I didn't have to change a lightbulb, decided on a Suzuki Swift....but unfortunately I won't be keeping this one as long for a few reasons.

Firstly the good news. Car is fun to drive and quite economical though the readout overestimates by at least 5% so getting 50ish in winter to 55 in summer although I got 62 on a 400 mile round trip partly due to all the 50mph sections on the motorways.
Space for 4 realistically though still a bit tight in the back for the person sitting behind me even though I am only 5'8, boot a bit small for a family but OK for 2.
Technology frustrating, the collision avoidance goes off randomly and have to turn off the lane departure on short trips. Sat-nav supposedly updated by Suzuki but still come across issues.
Adaptive cruise control good on motorways. Dab radio / air con etc work well.

I know it's a relatively cheap car but am concerned by the paintwork already looking tired and and a chip inside the door frame. Also the panel covering the tunnel beside the clutch pedal has come loose a few times.

However the most frustrating issue is the seat. Even on relatively short journeys (<30 miles) find I have a pain in the lower back. Partially helped issue by fashioning my own lumbar support but I am not prepared to put up with this long term so looking to upgrade sooner rather than later.

Local dealership friendly and helpful. Service costs reasonable. High insurance costs.


Overall a good car let down by some shortcomings.
