Good value, economical motoring

I bought the car as a six month old ex-demo with 2700 miles to replace a much-loved (but sadly written-off) 2010 Nissan Note, and after almost three years and 25k miles I remain delighted with it.
It's basic - no alloy wheels - but adequately equipped with such essentials as air conditioning and electric front windows. It's comfortable enough for 300 mile trips involving motorways to be tolerable, and is nippy around town and easy to park.
I've averaged over 51 mpg during the last 3 years, and servicing costs are perfectly reasonable.
The engine design was a major attraction to me. Like the Nissan it replaced, it's a simple thing with no turbocharger or timing belt, and is straightforward to work on.
One minor gripe - there is an exposed chassis member in the middle of the underneath of the car that is very exposed to damage, and subsequent rusting. I noticed it after about 18 months when I was doing an oil change, and treated it with rust inhibitor and new paint.
Other than that, if you're looking for reliable, cost-effective motoring, I thoroughly recommend it.
