Overall reliability

Comfortable, quick, economical - stunning value for money.

I bought this Saab to replace a company lease car (Honda CR-V diesel). Having previously run a wide variety of cars (20+ in all) including 5 Volvos, I looked at used (I'm too mean/poor to buy new) Volvo S60, Merc C, Honda Accord and the like. In the course of my investigations I came across a very tidy 9-5 (a 2.0t) which I test drove. This started me looking at other 9-5s after which everything else looked very overpriced!

While the 2.0t was OK, I had noticed that (on paper at least) there was little difference in fuel consumption between the various petrol engines which is how I found myself looking at the range-topping Aero.

I have had mine for nearly a year now and in addition to local running about it has completed half a dozen longer (750 mile) round trips. Comfort is at least on a par with my old Volvo 945, despite the stiffened suspension. The boot easlily accomodated our baggage for a recent week in France. Having 250hp at the disposal of one's right foot makes for safe A-road overtaking and it still manages what for a large and powerful car is amazing fuel consumption.

Best of all, I enjoy it.
