Overall reliability

Very Good comfortable Automatic SUV, Great on Road, Safe on Ice & Snow, Reasonably economical

Interior overall good layout and attractive with cream leather seats and part matching dashboard. Good Music System 6 CD front loading with MP3 playback. Sat Nav reasonably good if map updated but no Post Code route entry available. Blue tooth connectivity, voice dialling good and voice clarity is fantastic. Back seat passengers have reasonable leg space with tinted windows. Backseatscomfortable for 2 with the midle half seat size good for a child only. High driving position excellent for road view with electric adjustments on driver seat and comfortable driving position. With front and side airbags it is very safe. Huge boot space and the horizontal netting can keep shopping bags from running all over the boot. Huge sunroof not available as standard in other SUVs. Noise in car with sunroof open during summer is not as signigifcant as in other cars.

Negative points - no arm rest for left elbow/arm at the cost of cup holders which really is not necessary as there are already 2 cup holders on the dash in a comfortable accessible position already. Volume control and on/off button for cruise control very badly positioned on steering wheel and one needs to take eyes off the road to locate it.
Leather heated seats good in winter but during summer these seats are not comfortable without seat a/c as backrest will give burning sensation over lowerback during long journey.

Mileage - 7 to 8 miles per litre of Diesel for urban and extraurban driving at 50-60 miles/ hour. Best economy is at 50 miles per hour speed and on cruise control between 50-60 mls/hr. Approx 36-38 miles per Gallon. Smooth drive with no excess vibration and comfortable. Engine vibrations pronounced only when vehicle stationery and on auto Drive mode. Good grip on road and a simple knob to switch to 4x4 auto makes driving on ice and snow no problem at all. Good response and power to overtake. Off road performance is good - not tried extreme off road. Option of using manual gear mode by moving the gear lever to the right. Remember when in manual mode the gears will move to lower gear automatically but will not move up when you accelerate and you will find that you are driving at 50 miles in 2nd gear at high revs.

Headlights are good and bright. Reversing camera very helpful with a large monitor. I will certainly recomend this particular model 2L Diesel Auto Aventura Explorer with these specifications highly as it is not a gas guzzler for an automatic non-hybrid.
