Disappointing - Car is excellent apart from engine problems

I had a XTRAIL on a 52 plate a few years ago - it was excellent until I was told the Shells were wearing (bottom end problem apparently) and the engine was shaking itself to pieces and I'd better trade it in and it was not economic to repair.

Bought a second one in 2014 on 72K and now at 116K I have been told this one is going the same way so should trade it in quick. Its a "throw away engine scenario" apparently.

The I as told this is a really common problem with XTrails - even the newer ones.... So disapointed with this situation.
