1.2 Dig-T Acenta 5dr Hatchback
Roomy but under-powered
I came to the Pulsar from a Golf GTi. We all prefer the Pulsar.
Pros:
- massive leg room in the back is a boon when transporting tall teenagers
- astonishingly quiet
- economical to drive
- spacious interior. Smaller children appreciate being able to see out from the back seats.
Cons:
- horribly under-powered for its size. Can be embarrassing on hills when heavily loaded, even if you're a cyclist and used to changing gears in advance
- never ever attempt to pull out of a junction without a clear half-mile gap, especially if you hadn't quite stopped first
- side windows do not wipe clean of rain when they are opened. Really annoying - but dealer told me this is 'normal' for Nissan.
- short of storage spaces, e.g. for coins.
- rear seats don't fold flat.
- battery failure. Known problem. Mine has lasted 3.5 years so the dealer and Nissan accept no responsibility. The batteries weren't recalled, but faster failures were replaced under warranty.
