Overall reliability

Good compact luxury car with sporty versions available.

The ride is a little on the harsh side to be a true luxury car, the extra weight of the clubman compared to the hatch blunts the performance so for the smaller engined versions it's not the best driver's car mini has ever made. However if you want to compromise space for passengers with minis trademark handling then this is a good model to go for.

Reliability has been great, equipment levels on mine are great but choose carefully when buying secondhand as there is a lot of variation out there so worth taking time to find one with a good spec.

Fuel economy is good, I get between 40 and 47mpg.

Low roofline makes it awkward lifting a small child in and out of a car seat, but by no means impossible.

Boot space is quite limited with back seats up as generous amount of space given to rear passengers which eats into boot space.
