The Perfect Grand Tourer

Initially was looking at the SLC 43 to replace my old SLK350. Took a test drive in an SL500 mainly to convince myself that it would be too big an unwieldy. Ended up really impressed and ended up with a great deal on a new SL400. (22k off list)
2 years on I’m still very pleased with my decision. The cabin and infotainment are a bit dated but the overall impression is one of cosseted luxury. Ride, handling and grip are excellent And the twin turbo engine has strong performance.
There is planet of luggage space for a long trip and on a 4 day tour of Scotland last year I managed over 35mpg.
The Mercedes 4 year Servicecare plan is not too bad at £33 pm
The only problems I’ve had is a Slightly sticky parking brake and a loose bit of trim.
