Choose the Plague over this car

Mercedes have created a good looking car, with an interior look second only to the newest Volvo's and a dream sold by the dealers of how great Mercedes cars and customer service is.
The reality is far from it, in both quality and drivability.
On the good side it's comfortable for long motorway journeys and wallows gently for a SUV in bends. Switching from my C-Class to this is easy as this is essentially a taller 4WD C-Class.
It has the crabbing issue, resulting in severe wrist pain in my wife every time it did it. It took over nine months for them to change the tyres after they agreed to replace then and took several trips to the dealership where they kept the car in and did nothing. All weather tyres are a poor fix for poorly designed steering setup.
The airbag recall took over nine months to sort out, because every time it was brought in to the dealer the part was unavailable, despite it being booked in several times with more than enough time to order the parts.
The vinyl seats (yes, at this price Mercedes decided you still don't deserve real leather) are wearing away at 25,000 miles.
The boot, despite being large is a poor shape which means that fitting large objects or cases is very unsatisfactory. There is masses of space under the boot floor, but who can be bothered to jigsaw all your small items under there. The cover and restraint net is poor, especially given how Mercedes like to highlight their design - For how it should be done look at the Mazda 6 Tourer.

What makes me chose the Plague over this car is the dangerous drivability, especially the intermittent and unpredictable power delivery. When at junctions or roundabouts you put your foot down gently, expecting it to move away as it as it did the last time, but nothing! You keep pressing and just when there is something too close for comfort, it sets off like a scalded cat. If this happened every time you could adapt your driving style, but it happens occasionally but often enough to be a real problem. It's not easily reproducible and the dealership won't do anything about it because they can't replicate it.

When the quality of this vehicle is coupled with the appalling customer service from the Mercedes dealer (which can only be down to complete contempt or utter incompetence) I could never recommend buying a Merc, and will never buy one myself again.
