E320 CDI Elegance Estate

Bought this car in a hurry as my previous car a Mercedes W210 petrol estate rustbox was sent to the sc***yard after 10 years of abuse and 250000 miles with a steering failure due to serious rust.
Despite the rust the old Merc was a lovely car to drive and all I can say is once you have had one of these you wont want anything else apart from perhaps a Bentley.
So I found this one on the internet @ £2800 and 139000 miles with a full history. Older ones like this are at giveaway prices and you get a lot of car for the money. Previous owners have spent a fortune on this particular car and the sensotronic brake module has been replaced. The dreaded rust is apparent on the rear wheel arches and has been repaired (badly) in the past.
Sounds like a lorry at low speeds, really smooth once you get going. Dont like the autobox and wish there was a manual version! Very nice inside and very comfortable with a really smooth ride.
So far this car has given no trouble at all and gives amazingly low fuel consumption for such a big tank of a car.
I will run it into the ground and do any work on it myself as necessary. There is a Haynes manual available. Let us see what happens.
