Superb Grand Tourer

Was originally considering buying a BMW 535d but found they were over-priced and far too common.
CLS struck me as being far more individual and incredible value for money. Bought mine from a franchised dealer as they price matched their cars and it just made sense for the peace of mind of a 12 month MB warranty.
I have never regretted my decision. The car is stunning to look at from most angles and has been completely faultless. An already fast car has been transformed by the addition of a Brabus D6 tuning box. It's now devastating in the mid range which is where you need it.
It's incredibly spacious for four adults and has a huge boot. Built quality is up there with the best (I understand that MB pushed the boat out with this model after being stung by criticism of poor build on the E class in which it's based). There are no squeals or rattles and nothing has failed (apart from a bulb!)
Negatives? Not many but economy is not brilliant. I live in a flat area and average between 32 and 36 mpg but on a spirited long distance run I have seen 45 mpg plus. (Not bad I suppose for 274 bhp and 432 lb/ft of torque!) It doesn't handle like a BMW. It's a big heavy car and you feel all of it's weight through the twisties and the front seats aren't supportive enough. That's it really. To sum up, if you're thinking of buying one just do it and you'll be driving a fabulously made, head turning Mercedes for the price of a middle of the range Fiesta! Bit of a no brainier as far as I'm concerned!
