Quirky and some serious reliability issues

I made the decision to get this car after test driving a Kia EV6: the Genesis seemed to have the edge in design, especially the interior. Initial impressions were good, it was very quiet on the move and relaxing to drive. Even in Premium trim the car is incredibly powerful and fast of the mark. Concerns about range were tempered by a few long distance drives tapping into cheap charging using the Ionity network in UK and Europe - the best so far is London to Durham without stopping - more than 250 miles. The ability to fast charge is really welcome when on a long trip with charging from 20% to 80+% taking less than 20 minutes.

Over time, the niggles related to security features have become more irritating. Probably the worst is lane assist which manifests itself as a pretty violent tug on the steering wheel, especially if you forget to indicate when charging lanes. I've also nearly caused an accident at least once when the car has decided to brake in what it considers an emergency situation: driving up to a sharp right hand bend with a junction with a car waiting to emerge. I was nearly rear ended and had to put up with a volley of abuse from the driver of the car following me.

The car currently is back with Genesis after breaking down with a charging fault (12v battery not charging) and it looks as if I may have to wait about a month for the spares. Not good. This also after having to return the car recently for a safety recall related to rear drive shafts. Genesis gave me a replacement car both times but I'd be seriously concerned about any decision to keep the car beyond the end of the warranty.
