Bullet proof reliabilty

Share this car with my son for whom I bought it with a mere dealer serviced 7,400 miles. It was as new, and at 34,000 miles is still close. I've fitted discs, 4 tyres, and two light bulbs so far.That's it. To be fair, my son is fastidious about care & servicing, is in the Police, and drives accordingly.
It has been very economical fuel wise, and utterly reliable to date. In my view the general build quality is around what VW were doing in the 80's. Good paint finish, panel gaps, and the cockpit is a nice place to be. It is very user friendly, unobtrusive, and well packaged for taking loads but as has been said before you need to be aware the two doors have a wide arc to parking needs thought. It would not pull the skin off a rice pudding straight-lines in comparison with my 2 seater sports car but that does not matter one bit.Oranges & apples Any decent driver will compensate and adjust their road sense and gears to make good progress.
The light alloy engine loves revs anyhow.Given I think it's Yamaha (?) family connections I'm not surprised. If I could have a 2 litre version of it in my 2 Roadster I'd be in rev happy heaven.
What it does, is the job it was meant for without complaint.
When our son upgrades to a more gutsy Fiesta in 2021, we are buying this car from him as a retirement run around. It'll mean I can keep my own recently resto'd Roadster locked up for sunny days...and the Fiesta will take over in Waiting for God shopping & Garden Centre duties while being looked after no expense spared.
