More boot space than a BMW3 Touring at well under half the cost... so what are the draws and the drawbacks?

The Logan's low price obviously sets it apart, and then there's no car tax as it is in the 'A' band for economy. Fuel consumption is hovering around 60mpg, so not as good as the lab test (of course) but good enough. There's more than enough power on the motorway, and it's generally sufficient on 'A' roads too. Cruise control feels like a real bonus in such a basic car.
There's plenty of space, and a huge and practical boot, and - so far - everything works.

It took time to get used to the gearing, and to begin with I was driving in too high a gear. Compared to my previous car (Zafira) I had to change up at much higher speeds, often about 10mph difference. I still find that revs can get too low in the Eco mode at low speeds, but generally have come round to the Logan's way of getting there. The steering feels a bit vague too ... or, I don't know, maybe that is just me.

For MCV (Multi Capacity Vehicle) read "old fashjoned estate", and you certainly feel this is a car from an older era: however all the basic needs are met. The drawbacks largely come with the fine detail e.g. the electric window controls are a bit clunky, and the boot doesn't open with the remote control. I should have opted for the parking sensors for this long car too. Overall there's no cosseting, but it does the job ok.
