Overall reliability

Excellent - we love it.

We have had the car for almost two weeks and have travelled 800 miles. So far average mpg is 43.5 which is very good. The car has been a joy to drive. On motorways at 70mph it is very quiet. It handles minor country roads with ease and always feels very stable.

Acceleration is good and the car picks up spead quickly when you want it and need it. It is very comfortable for 4 people but will take 5 although the central rear seat is less comfortable. It really is a good sized car with a large boot. Takes my golf clubs and electric trolley with ease!!!!

A few comments on extras. The satnav etc is far too expensive. The auto box is fantastic and a real must. I also added heated front seats (very nice), high beam assist (works really well) and up graded wing mirrors. The latter ia a bit of must as I did not want to have to manually fold in the mirrors!!!!! It really should be standard equipment on a quality car of this nature - what is BMW thinking!!!!!

Finally a word about the main dealer Westerly, Exeter. I found them really good. Very efficient and kept me informed throughout the 7 month wait.
