Halfords launches car collection and delivery service for MoTs and servicing

Published 18 June 2020

Halfords Autocentres has launched a car collection and delivery service for customers who book a service or an MoT with their annual service.

At 215 of its garages across the UK, Halfords is offering the collection and delivery service to customers who live within five miles of one of the participating centres.

The service costs £19.99 and Halfords says its technicians will wear a new pair of disposable gloves and use a sanitiser regularly for each job.

Halfords will perform a damage inspection check on the vehicle before opening the car doors and windows for five minutes to make sure that it is sufficiently ventilated. The car will then be fit with a protective car care kit including a seat cover, floor mat, steering wheel cover, gear stick and handbrake wrap.

Dave Scollard-Kerr, Halfords Autocentres Central Operations Director says: "By introducing a car collection and delivery service, we believe we are giving customers affected by the lockdown the flexibility and convenience they need in these challenging times."

The launching of the service follows news that premium car owners are more likely to get their MoT done despite the six-month automatic MoT extension.
