Someone who I work with had a new Astra Coupe crashed into. the value of the car was about £22k (IIRC) and the damage came to about £7.5k. The insurance company said that it can't be written off and is to be repaired.
However, I was wondering about the future value of the car now that it has crash damage history. If you are not at fault (ie a no fault claim) are you entitled to claim some compensation against the offending party now that the value of your car will be lessened? I asked the Astra owner if they were going to find about compensation but got no answer.
