VW Tiguan 2008 SE tdi auto - Mechanical problems ... - squmtious

Just wondering if anyone out there has had a similar experience.

My 4 year old Tiguan (42,000 miles) has just bankrupted me! The following faults have been found :

The propshaft has been replaced

the coil/springs on the rear suspension have been replaced

the flap motor has been replaced

Its cost £1300 ....

The car has never been off road.

Am just wondering if these are common faults - I can't find similar having searched the internet.

Anyone thinking of buying one, BEWARE ....

My questions would be why have each of these items been replaced ? They are unrelated parts. Springs are usually replaced if one breaks, what was wrong with the prop-shaft ?

Sometimes I think garages decide early on they are going to fleece someone.

I guess the flap motor is in the ventilation system in the dashboard.

Flap motor...I guessed it was some fancy VW gubbins related to a variable engine air intake. But summat HVAC related sounds more probable.

Unless it has the VW Tiguan 'light aircraft option pack'..that comes with both flaps and ailerons doesn't it?
