Company car allowance - stepheng

Hello all. I have a company car at the moment and am wanting to change to the company car allowance which will leave me about £500 a month when the insurance is taken out. I wanted to go for say an Audi A4 with their service including tyres option but this needs a large deposit and most other manufacturers also require large deposits. Is there a way around this and how do others fare ? I don't have enough spare cash for a deposit and so might have to stick with the company car.

Hi Steve,

I've organised contract hire and pcp deals through nationwide car rental ,for customers several times .their rates are some of the best around.

Depending on mileage and length of contract, their rates start at £400 a month for an a4 diesel .

Alternatively you could use your£500 a month to fund an almost new a4 ,by using a bank loan.

A £21,000 bank or finance loan will cost you £512 a month (Tesco) over 4 years. Enough to buy a decent enough A4 but not a shiny new one. Factor in £100 a month for servicing, repairs, tyres etc and you'll probably come to the same conclusion I did a while ago that if you want a somethinglike a "prestige" car it has to be a company car and you put up and pay the BIK. Plan B would be to buy a 5 year old Focus and pocket the extra cash every month and save for the Audi.

When I was considering leasing - they were by far the cheapest. Very helpful on the phone too

They had a deal on a while back which was excellent value (for me) - skoda or leon 1.6tdi with 30k a year allowance. Servicing and tyres included - all for £300 a month and first payment was the standard amount (3 monthly payments - £900)
