I don't know the Micra at all: but most modern handbrake cables are in sealed runs under the car and the ONLY adjustment is at the handbrake under the console.
So if it's the same design , then yes...
Of course, if your brake shoes are worn or rusted solid through lack of attention and servicing - they should be inspected annually- you may be wasting your time adjusting anything.
When was the last time the rear brakes were inspected..? By that I mean wheels and drums off..
Cos if we are talking years or don't know....then I recommend you get it done by a garage..
