03 1.8 - where to look for the engine number? - eddie lane
i have been told that a zetec 1800 engine on my mk3 mondeo does not have a engine number on it i have never heard that before as i have a number on my log book i just wanted to check if it was the original engine

03 1800 is the a engine number and were 2 look - jc2
The engine number on a Ford is usually the last five numbers of the VIN code.It is normally to be found around the top right hand corner(as you face the engine) of the block.There may also be a four figure number-ignore it-it's the piston grades-used in production.There may also be three or two letters-these are engine type.
