turbo is not kicking in, in my punto gt turbo, can anyone help, i have only had the car few days, there is a red light on the dash, is it easy to sort out
|
Can you describe the red light (i.e. what symbol is it, or any lettering?)
Could be an engine management fault which has put the car into Limp Home (or Limited Operation Strategy) mode - operating on reduced power to prevent damage - but engine management lights are usually orange or yellow.
What does the light look like?

the red light looks like a red torch with few dots at the bottom end, from the fiat manaul i think its a engine management light, what could the problem be, is it a big problem

Assuming it is an engine management light, the answer is unfortunately how long is a piece of string? All that light tells you is there is a fault. The system will have generated an error or fault code and stored it in memory. When the car is plugged into a diagnostic rig, this code can be read off and should point the technician in the general area of the problem.
It could just be something cheap-ish like a sensor or wiring connector (most likely) , or it could be something more expensive (less likely but possible, unfortunately)
Unfortunately, you need a good mechanic with access to diagnostic kit to know for sure. Most places charge an hour's labour for basic code reading / diagnostics after which you can decide what needs to be done.
Good luck!

From the description given it sounds like the injector light suggesting one of many possible injector problems.
Fiat Bravo Owners Club website has a description of a few of these faults and some suggested cures, why not head over there and take a look?
As always
