MK2 Golf Steering lock and ignition - mattbell1975
hi i have a 1990 vw golf 2 1800GL which was given to me by a friend....he gave it to me as he didnt have a key (lost).....i have several problems i.e no key....so i bought a replacement lock set....however the steering lock is engaged so i cannot remove the old lock barrel and without a key i cant do it anyway ..... i have drilled a small hole in the housing (as per haynes manual) to release the spring that holds the lock in place but it didnt work....i have made a mess of my housing now a its only alloy so i have now bought a new housing but i require a bit of advice of how to remove my old housing with the steering lock on and how to put my new one on then get my locks (doors) to work off the same key? any ideas guys?
