Changing engine oil - gramar
Can anyone suggest an easy way to remove engIne oil without getting under the car and removing the sump plug - my car has an awkward to remove and replace acoustic cover. It takes me a couple hours to do each time!

I've looked into the idea of a marine type hand operated oil suction pump but dismissed it on cost. Does anyone know if there is a simple syphon pump on the market suitable or that can be adapted? or anything else that will do the job.

There have been many discussions about this, so a search of the forum would turn up lots of information. Try searching on "pump" or "suction".

I continue to prefer draining old oil rather than sucking it out.

You could take it to Kwik-Fit or similar and get them to cope with the hassle. You would probably find it cheaper too. Kwik-Fit is where I get Mobil 1 regularly for many £s lower than its normal retail price, and the £39.95 deal includes the filter and holds good no matter what quantity is needed (5.5L and 7L in my case).
