Can't seem to get the Cruise Control on my Mondeo to work.
I know you have to be going over a certain speed, but is there more to it than simply pressing the ON button.

I find occasionally on my Saab (and have found on hire cars in the past ) that a dab on the brake pedal may haep as sometimes it's one of the cancelling relays that has got a bit stuck or whatever not a mondeo specific thing but might be worth a try

Haven't tried a Mondeo cruise but the others I have used, usually required you to switch it on, then press the "set" button to hold the speed. "On" simply activated the system allowing the "set", "decel" etc buttons to function.
No offense intended, but if you are unsure of how your or any cruise control works, have someone physically show you (place where you bought the car for example), or at the very least find an empty motor/dual carriage way to try it. It can be very un-nerving to feel you car carry on at speed when you lift off the throttle, particularly when it accelerates uphill. Just remember that pressing the brake pedal disconnects it, so don't worry about trying to find an "off" button if you need to slow down or stop.

Try pressing and holding the button until you hear a bleep confirming the cruise control is on. Failing that, surely you have a manual with your car?

Simple, press the on button at any time after starting the engine, then when you are travelling at the speed you want to hold press "Set", the car will then hold this speed, you can increase or decrease speed by using the + and - buttons. If you have to brake you can return to the previous set speed by using the top button on the right hand side of the wheel (I cannot remeber the name of it). This same button releases the cruise control as an alternative to touching the brakes, i.e. if the traffic in front starts to slow. The Mondeo system is much smoother in how it takes up the throttle contol from the driver than any other system I have tried including that on S Class Merc's etc.
Regards.

Thanks for the replies. I got it to work this morning by pressing ON then SET. I was sure I had tried this as it is the way it worked on my old Accord.
Regarding the manual for the car - it simply tells you to press the on button. I don't know if it is an old manual I have but almost everything in it looks different from my car.
