Mercedes Benz B-Class - V5 has previous owners private reg on - Sharon Andrews

Hi I recently bought a new car, the previous owner has private plates on it but he was keeping them for his new vehicle. The dealer replaced the plates with the original registration number on for me. I've just received the v5 back and it has the private reg on it. I can't find anywhere that I can change it, can anyone help?

Can't see anything specific online about this, but did find a DVLA helpline which appears to be for vehicle registrations and the V5, so unless anyone comes up with a better option, this is it:

0300 790 6802

Be prepared to spend a lot of time on hold though!.

I'd get the dealer to do the leg work.

Agreed, about now the (previous) owner of the plate is probably looking goggle eyed at their V5 or wondering where the retention conformation has got to.
