Citroen Xsara Picasso - Extremely high idle. - Applecrumble

I have a 1.6 petrol 51 plate Xsara Picasso. When I set off the car is ok until the engine is warm, then I notice when I stop the revs are a little high and slowly drops to normal. Each time I stop it takes a little longer for the revs to drop. Eventually it doesn't drop at all and then increases as if I have my foot to the floor, I have to turn the engine off whilst waiting at traffic lights and junctions.

I have done a diagnostic check and the only fault showing is slow cooling fan relay circuit.

I have replaced the MAP sensor and also taken off the idle air control valve and sprayed it with carb cleaner but there is no difference.

Any ideas as to what I should do next

Thanks

Did you get it checked with Lexia diagnostic equipment? That can do much more than just code read, it can read live engine data and check components.
