Small 4 wheel drive diesel

I am considering a small 4 wheel drive diesel, such as Golf 4 Motion TDI. As a day to day car that is economical and will enable me to navigate tricky weather conditions similar to last winter. Choice seems fairly limited and other suggestions?

They are rare. 4WD is more common on Skoda Octavias (same system), the Yeti and the MINI Countryman.
