Another X-Trail or not?

I have a budget of about 10-12k to buy a replacement for my ageing X-Trail. I am impressed with the newer version (I have elderly parents who have mobility issues) so something similar is good. But do you have any advice on a similar 4x4 with the same amount of boot space and rear legroom.

A CR-V is more luxurious.
