Is it safe to buy a car through an online broker where the car is registered to a fleet?

I am looking to buy a new Mazda MX-5 Roadster Powershift. Some of the best deals I have found are through online car brokers. However, on checking these companies they register the car to a fleet to obtain a discount. I would be the registered keeper but the ownership would not transfer to me for six months. Can you tell me if this is a safe way to buy a car? What rights do I have if they don't transfer the ownership after six months?

I don't think so, because any speeding or parking ticket would have to go through the registered keeper before it came to you and that might delay matters and increase the penalty. I think it would be better for these companies to actually lease the car to you for the first six months, to comply with the conditions of the fleet discount. Some insurers will not cover a car unless the registered keeper is the policyholder.
