Need an MPV with a reliable auto gearbox

I am trying to replace my 2005 Citroen Xsara Picasso petrol automatic with a car of similar size and a reliable automatic gearbox. However, I'm finding it very difficult to source a petrol automatic MPV. I have narrowed it down to the Toyota Verso 1.8 CVT automatic and Vauxhall Zafira Tourer 1.4 turbo conventional automatic. Am leaning towards Verso but have read CVT gearboxes are quite screechy as revs stay up. Would welcome your opinion on either of these cars.

Actually (like the Xsara Picasso 2.0i auto) the Verso 1.8i Valvematic Multidrive S is by far the nicest Verso to drive (and I've had no complaints at all about the reliability of the transmission in seven years): www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/toyota/toyota-vers.../
