Is the petrol Honda HR-V a good choice?

I have read that you have recently been road testing the Honda HR-V. Are Honda still having problems getting hold of the model and would petrol rather the diesel in HR-V be a sensible choice?

My reports are here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/our-cars/honda-hr-v/ And my original road test is here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/honda/honda-hr-v-2.../ You're right. Honda UK simply can't get the numbers from the Mexican factory that supplies its RHD UK cars. Unfortunately the UK/Euro 1.5iVTEC isn't a very pleasant motor in the HR-V with a manual box. It's better with the CVT-7, but you have to be patient. HR-Vs are also assembled in Thailand in RHD with a more powerful 1.8iVTEC and CVT-7, but we don't get that. The best is the one I'm running which is the 1.6iDTEC. No trouble at all in 8,250 miles.
