What's the best petrol SUV for £30k?

I'm looking for a mid-size SUV with a petrol engine, autobox and on demand four-wheel drive. I also want 17-inch wheels and a boot big enough for two full size suitcases. What do you recommend for £30k?

Suzuki Vitara S 1.4T BoosterJet auto or, if that's too small, the new Toyota RAV-4 2.5 hybrid 4x4. You can still order a RAV-4 2.0i Valvematic Multidrive S 4WD, but it's a bit juicy. The hybrid can do 40mpg.

My wife has a 10 year old Toyota RAV4 and loves it. However, she now needs to replace it. What do you suggest she buys? It must have a high driving position and a petrol engine.
