Focus automatic gearbox and clutch problems

My Ford Focus (2014 model) developed a judder in the transmission when running slowly. The main dealer recognised a problem with the clutch mechanism (well known fault I believe) and obtained permission under Ford warranty to replace the clutch.

Three weeks later Ford are still unable to supply the clutch parts and worse are unable to give a promise date when parts will be available. We are without a car as cars are not normally available when one is over 80 but the garage have been good enough to let us have a car provided we insure it ourselves at considerable expense.

My question is what is the parts supply problem on automatic gearbox clutch sets at Ford?

This Powershift transmission for low power engines is dry clutch and the problem seems to be due to an oil seal failing and transmission fluid leaking onto the clutch pack. There is another problem altogether with clutch slave cylinders on manual Focus and Fiestas and this will feature on 'Don't Get Done Get Dom' at 11.00am on BBC1 on 21st May. I'll add your case to the Focus entry in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar
