Is it wise to buy a diesel with high mileage?

I am considering buying a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander 2.3 diesel with 150,000 miles on the clock and full service history from a dealer for £8500. Is this good value, or am I buying into expensive bills?

At least it's got the excellent 2,268cc chain cam 175PS Mitsubishi D-iD engine and not the less good belt cam 2.2 litre PSA/Ford diesel engine. I got 45mpg out of the 2.3, so economical too. How good the engine still is depends on its maintenance regime. 10k mile oil changes, good. 20k mile oil changes not good. And I think there's room for negotiation downwards on the price.
