What can I do to pinpoint a hesitation problem in my diesel Hyundai i30?

At about 1500 revs, from cold at about 20/30 mph and with the temperature about half/two thirds to optimum, my Hyundau i30 diesel automatic hesitates as though it is low on fuel, needs to change gear, is driving over a series of gentle but regular undulations in the road or is being held back slightly and then released very gently. There is no change in speed or revs. It can easily be missed, so gentle is it, that one may erroneously think it is the road. It occurs at just about the same place in the road each day when revs and temp are about those given. After a very short time it goes away.

A UK Hyundai dealer says they have never heard of such a thing, while the Hyundai dealer here in Bergerac tells me that all electrics are OK and I have to take the car back for a day or two for mechanical investigation. Hyundai refuses to admit the fault or talk to me about the matter. Once the car is over its hiccups it works well, and I am pleased with it, but it leaves you feeling very insecure especially when the Hyundai warranty is so rarely accepted here in France. Any advice or comments, please?

We can only suggest talking to an an independent garage for a second opinion to see if they can pinpoint the problem. We've not heard of any similar problems with the i30 like this. The Hyundai UK warranty still applies in the UK and the company does seem to have tried to help you in the past, so there's no reason to feel insecure about the car, especially when this is only a small problem which sounds like it should be sorted fairly quickly.
