Car damaged in accident - should the other driver's insurer cover our costs?

Someone hit my daughter's car while it was parked outside her house. The driver's insurance company has been in touch and offered her £10 per day in lieu of a courtesy car. However it will cost her £14 per day in bus fares to get to work plus an extra two hours per day on her travelling time and of course she doesn't have the use of a vehicle for other journeys.

She doesn't want to have a courtesy car because of the potential pitfalls involved. Do you think the amount offered is reasonable and if not what do you think would be reasonable to claim?

The other party is fully liable for all of her costs and if he/she won't pay you sue his/her insurer, which is a relatively new right conferred by an EC Directive.
