Can I buy back a written off car?

If my car is deemed to be written off following an accident, not my fault, can I buy it back?

If it's a Cat C or a Cat D, yes. You can usually do a deal with the insurance company to keep the car with a lower payout than if it had been sold for salvage. Many insurers prefer to do this than to repair an older car because then the spectre of expensive credit hire during the repair does not arise.
