How can I cure excessive road noise on my Ford Kuga?

I recently purchased a 2012 Ford Kuga Titanium X with 15,000 miles on the clock from a local dealer. The car has Nexen tyres on the front, Bridgestone on the rear and 19-inch alloys.

Within days of buying the car I noticed the car suffered from rather loud road noise. I had the tracking fixed, wheels balanced, with a slight improvement, but it has not stopped the droning noise from rear. The droning is over and above the road noise heard at 1500 revs. Can you offer any suggestions as to how I can fix this?

All the tyres need to be the same make, type and rolling circumference or the disparity will interfere with the automatic AWD system, causing wear. But anyway, low profile tyres will start to get noisy after they are around 2/3 worn simply because more of the surface area of the tyre is in constant contact with the road.
