Why won't Toyota allow me to fit a louder indicator ticking relay into my 2007 Yaris?

The indicator 'ticking' is inaudible in my 2007 Toyota Yaris, so the occasional failure to notice its non-cancellation is frustrating and potentially dangerous. It's not a huge problem but it was the same in my little Mercedes-Benz 140. A visit to Gerard Mann in Coventry resolved the 140's problem with a little in-line chanter fitted for £33.45. Well done Gerrard Mann.

So, when I made the wrong decision and changed the Mercedes-Benz for a Toyota a year later I called on Listers, the Coventry Toyota dealer, to put a similar chanter in the Yaris. Response? "Oh no sir, Toyota would not allow a modification like this and if you do it privately it could affect your warranty." Why are Toyota so obdurate in their determination to annoy their customers when this simple 'mod' could make driving the Yaris safer and a more comfortable experience?
