Indicators not working after repair

After a small bump my high insurance excess meant paying for damage myself. A good bodywork job was done but the nearside indicators are inoperative. The garage checked everything (broken wires, fuses etc. but they still don't work.

When depressing the stalk a rapid clicking occurs but no indicating - any ideas?

Not properly earthed so the circuit is not complete.
