Does the new Golf SV have a retractable towbar?

Your review of the new Volkswagen Golf SV says that your test vehicle was fitted with a retractable towbar. Do you know if this is available as a factory fit?

I ask because I can see no mention of towbars in Volkswagen 's Golf SV literature - I've checked both the accessories brochure and the online vehicle configurator. The new Estate which I'm also considering seems to suffer from the same omission.

It obviously was factory fit because the release was built into the rear sill. Beautifully neat arrangement. But these were, of course, German launch spec cars, kitted up to the hilt. I'd guess that exact UK specs and factory fitted options are still under negotiation between VAG UK and VAG Germany.
