Can you recommend a small car for £2k?

I will be retiring soon and will be handing back my company car which I use as a general run-around, I also have a family car, at the same time I have a Porsche Boxster S which I use in dry weather and trips to Italy which have on limited mileage and do no want to use as a run about. What car would you recommend that would cost circa £2000 with very low road tax and good mileage?
