Can I fit different wheels to my Jaguar X-Type to improve tyre wear?

My Jaguar X-Type 2.2d Sport is a pleasure to drive, but a hard drive and harsh. With the low profile tyres on 18-inch alloys the wear on the rubber is a little costly. Is moving to a higher profile tyre on a 17-inch wheel an option, or will speed calculations, etc prove to be adversely affected?

Good move. The deeper profile tyres should make up the difference. Talk to www.tyremen.co.uk. If you make the switch, you have to disclose it to your insurer that should not impose any penalty unless it has ridiculous rules and is staffed by idiots. You may also need to realign the wheels and re-set the steering angle sensor (www.alignmycar.co.uk).
