Can anything be done to have my deposit returned ?

I went to purchase a Mercedes Benz at a dealer in Essex.

I saw a negative review of the dealer on the internet and spoke to some people who told me it is notorious for faulty cars.

I also could not raise the finance for the outstanding balance on the car. I would like my deposit returned but I understand this may not be possible as they took the car off their website on my behalf.

Can anything be done to have my deposit returned ?

No. If you welch on a deal you sacrifice your deposit. That's contract law in the UK. The dealer could if he wanted even hold you to the full contract to buy the car.
