Nine punctures in three years - what's causing it?

My wife and I are the proud owner of a Skoda Yeti 2.0-litre Diesel. We have had the car for over three years, but have had nine punctures over this time. In every case the whole tyre had to be replaced at a huge cost, although the damage appeared to be slight. I am in my 70s, but have never had so many punctures, nor had to pay so much. What's going on?

I'm taken aback by this because (from memory) it's the first such report we've had. If it's on 17-inch or 18-inch then it would make sense to switch to 16-inch with deeper 60 profile tyres that are better able to shrug off ruts, potholes and kerbs.

www.tyrement.co.uk can do the job for you. £335 inc for the wheels, plus the cost of the tyres, which will be much less for 16-inch than for 17 or 18-inch.
