Audi A3 Sportback - which wheels and tyres are best?

I am contemplating the purchase of an Audi A3 Sportback S-Line, however I am worried about the comfort provided by the standard 18 inch wheels. Is it really so much worse than the 16 and 17 inch wheels ?

Harsher over potholes and ridges, yes, because of the lower profile tyres. If you want comfort, buy with 16" wheels and 205/55 R16 tyres.
